YARN WITH A STORY TO TELL
Who wouldn’t want some Chaos in their lives?! This beautiful Herdwick boy came to us with his twin brother Mayhem after their caring owner gave up her flock when she moved house. Despite their names, Chaos and Mayhem are really well behaved sheep, super friendly and always first to run up to visitors to scrounge some treats. And despite being twins, these boys couldn’t look more different: Chaos has the lightest, almost white-grey plentiful fleece which grows straight out like a shock wave. Mayhem has a tight, mixed grey, conventional Herdwick fleece so they really don’t look related at all! This is our first yarn from Chaos and it's a beautiful blend with white alpaca fibre which has added a little softness to the strong, wiry Herdwick texture.
Our high welfare artisan yarn is from a small mixed flock of sheep at our livestock sanctuary in Nottinghamshire UK. The boys were originally called The Hooligans because of their boisterous behaviour and unerring knack of seeking out trouble, and although the girls are generally better behaved, they also have their moments. And so Hooligan Yarns was born!
Yarn sales go directly to support our charity Manor Farm Charitable Trust which offers lifelong sanctuary for livestock in need. UK Registered Charity No. 1173761.
